01.18.25 Whale Counts

It has been a day of spectacular whale watching. For our first trip we encountered 300 Common Dolphin, but just before we got into the pod a juvenile Fin Whale popped up literal feet off the side of the boat! This whale did some long dives and eluded us for some time but reemerged after we had loads of time with the playful dolphin. For the second trip, we ran down to the south and got to see 4 massive Gray whales as they swam hip to hip down to Mexico for their annual migration. Following that amazing show we got some quick looks at 500 Common Dolphin, and even a quick look at a Minke Whale! Today was a day to remember.
