04.12.24 Whale Counts

This was a trip for the books. We made it all the way out to the extent of our range, and got a magnificent show from some Offshore Bottlenose Dolphin, and saw spouts from a very large Fin whale. unfortunately did not get great looks at this shy whale and headed home. In whale watching you never know what you might encounter, and we were given a once in a lifetime show from a Humpback Whale just 2 miles south of Mission Bay. This whale breached around 100 times (we lost count), was Tail slapping, Pectoral fin slapping and Head slapping. This far and away broke the record for number of breaches and in all our years doing this had never seen something quite like it!
